请问有人做了IS assignment吗.....我不懂和没有IDEA要从那里开头....我是选HOTEL来做的......

有人可以告诉我TASK 1 和TASK 2 要怎么做吗........或给些意见....

Executive Support Systems
-An Executive Support System ("ESS") is designed to help senior management make strategic decisions. It gathers, analyses and summarises the key internal and external information used in the business.
-A good way to think about an ESS is to imagine the senior management team in an aircraft cockpit - with the instrument panel showing them the status of all the key business activities. ESS typically involve lots of data analysis and modelling tools such as "what-if" analysis to help strategic decision-making.

Management Information Systems
-A management information system ("MIS") is mainly concerned with internal sources of information. MIS usually take data from the transaction processing systems (see below) and summarise it into a series of management reports.
MIS reports tend to be used by middle management and operational supervisors.

Decision-Support Systems
Decision-support systems ("DSS") are specifically designed to help management make decisions in situations where there is uncertainty about the possible outcomes of those decisions. DSS comprise tools and techniques to help gather relevant information and analyse the options and alternatives. DSS often involves use of complex spreadsheet and databases to create "what-if" models.

Knowledge Management Systems
Knowledge Management Systems ("KMS") exist to help businesses create and share information. These are typically used in a business where employees create new knowledge and expertise - which can then be shared by other people in the organisation to create further commercial opportunities. Good examples include firms of lawyers, accountants and management consultants.
KMS are built around systems which allow efficient categorisation and distribution of knowledge. For example, the knowledge itself might be contained in word processing documents, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations. internet pages or whatever. To share the knowledge, a KMS would use group collaboration systems such as an intranet.

Transaction Processing Systems
As the name implies, Transaction Processing Systems ("TPS") are designed to process routine transactions efficiently and accurately. A business will have several (sometimes many) TPS; for example:
- Billing systems to send invoices to customers
- Systems to calculate the weekly and monthly payroll and tax payments
- Production and purchasing systems to calculate raw material requirements
- Stock control systems to process all movements into, within and out of the business

order processing system
A user interface for a computerized complex order processing system presents a list of products and services associated with an account, a list of quotes associated with the account, a list of orders associated with the account, and several user-selectable options. The options allow the user to transfer a service profile by defaulting the existing services at an old location to a new location; add, modify, and disconnect products and services the service profile, quotes, and orders associated with a selected account. The options further allow the user to accept a quote, convert the quote to a sales order, update the amount of revenue to be generated by a quote, approve an order, and submit the order for provisioning

budgeting system
The budget process has three main phases, each of
which is interrelated with the others:
(1) Formulation of the President’s proposed budget;
(2) Congressional action on the budget; and
(3) Budget execution.

Machine/apparatus control systems
produces equipment and machines with highest performance. This performance also derives from the perfect match between control units (machine/equipment control systems) and equipment hardware. Additionally, integrated their deep process and technology know-how into the control units, in order to ensure optimal performance for the whole process.

Production planning system
Efficient innovation management implies permanent business process redesign, particularly in the production planning area. New products and new technologies may completely change not only the material flow, but also other conditions that are essential for effective production planning and scheduling. This may require sufficient changes in the production planning system. This idea is illustrated by a case study of production planning and scheduling system redesign in medium size food manufacturing company, as a result of the introduction of new ''multipack'' products.

tomolo morning baru go....i want to ask...at the opening i introduction i want to use the human resource and marketing me need to describe the definition for those ? after describe is it directly describe the charastic/features and functions for the organisation we choosen???????? sorry ei... really no idea to do this assignment...need to ask clearly....

Task 1 :
# write aboutthe organization
# organization chart
# explain all d department (minimum 5)

Task 2 :
# choose 2 department n find out n describe d IS(features/function all tat)
# wat input n output from tis IS (input: order list output: receipt )
# write about y d user ned to use tis IS n wat info tat user ned to know...(almost same like our tutorial question - eg. promoter promote d shirt, she/he ned to know about size n price)

Task 3 :
# find out d problem by using d IS...(eg. high budget)
# how to solve d problem
# give some suggestion to improve d IS


i dunno whether u clear about my explanation or not....

Marketing department suitable to use the executive support system ????

i'm not sure ler~~sorry ya
but i think if u use Decision Support Systems(DSS) 4 marketing department is more suitable....

lol....but i use DSS for the finanicial departments adi.....lol..........

ei the Task2 part 2 is Identify all the necessary inputs and outputs required from the information system for each of the department.... identify all mean all departments???????

example :

i choose order processing system....
then d input will be customer order n output will be receipt....

oh....refer to task 1 the 2 department i choose...than input the system...than explain the system and input and output...........

i thought the question ask me to explain 5 department and the input system and output........that one kill ppl lo........
