1. The forums are broken up into various categories. Go to the
Index and then click on the link for the category that most closely matches your question or subject.
2. When you click on the category link you will be presented with a list of the topics in that category. To start the topic creation process click on the NEW TOPIC button at the top-left of the topic listing.
3. When you click on the button you will be presented with a new screen. In this screen you want to fill in the following information:
- For the Topic Title enter a title that is descriptive of the problem or question that you have. For example, do not write something like "I need Help!!", instead write "I have a Trojan". These descriptive titles will allow people to help you better by knowing the specific problem that you are having.
- In the message body, the large text area, type in a detail description of your problem. The more detail you provide to us, the quicker we can resolve your problems.
- Put a check in the checkbox labelled Notify me when a reply is posted so that you will get an email when someone replies to your topic.
- When you are satisfied with all the information click on the button to see how the post will appear to everyone else. Alternatively, you can enable the WYSIWYG feature so that you do not need to preview your post, you can do so by clicking
- If the post looks the way you want it, click on the button.
Your topic will now be added to the forum you created it in. Please be patient as it may take some time before someone responds to you.
4. If you post a question which has already been solved, tell the person who is helping you that your subject has been addressed or corrected. So that staffs may mark the topic as "
Solved".
Here's a quick guide for those who do not know how to upload images and post in their their topics or posts or signatures.
1. First of all you need to upload an image to an image host such as
servimg.com a special plugin is provided as shown the picture:
It can be found above the message box.
2. A pop out will appear when you click the button as shown below:
3. As shown in the above picture you can see two radio buttons for you to select either the
File or
URL uploading.
- File uploading requires you to chose an image from your computer, simply click browse and select the file.
- URL uploading means that you can upload an image from it's online URL for example: I want to upload the GeekPolice logo, without downloading it, I will right-click the image, and copy it's image location (http://www.geekpolice.net/users/89/79/54/album/geekpo13.png) I will then paste that link bar.
4. After the image is uploaded, you will see 3 links:
Click the copy button beside the 3rd link.
5. Click the following button as shown;
And paste the link inside. Your images will automatically be put in image tags, and you're done!
* If you would like to put that image in your signature, go to profile >> signature >> and copy the image with the
tags
* By defualt, when you register to this forum you get a servimg account.
